Previously in the collection of Alberto de Quintana. I personally bought this gun from his great-great grandson along with the entire collection that was offered for sale. A family legend has it that Colt presented this to him personally while he was the Spain's acting Ambassador to Cuba. Overall condition of the gun is approximately 75% blue starting to tone and plum to a brownish plum patina but still good blue showing. Bore has good rifling with scattered pits. Muted case colors remain on hammer. Original sights. Crisp action. Original wood has a few handling mars but generally VG+ with most varnish remaining. Complete with saddle ring and sling swivels. English proof marks are evident on bbl and receiver. Still a nice example of an early baby carbine.

It was set up by the US Government in 1917. The Government wanted safe shipping specifically for WWI. The Railway Express Agency continued on for years and finally ceased operation in 1975. The Hay days would have been through WWI and WWII where they were very active. During the 50's and 60's other transportation became available. The R.E.A. served much like our UPS today delivering shipments. This outfit would have been protection for those shipments.

C1450 BEAUTIFUL HIGH CONDITION DELUXE FACTORY ENGRAVED LONDON NAVY
Item # C1450
This gun features a very elaborate deluxe relief style engraving on the frame, back part of the bbl lug, muzzle, trigger guard and the bottom of the grip. The Colt patent markings on the side of the frame are done in a flowing banner style. The back shields of the frame have floral motif. Quite striking! Gun also features the typical 1 marking on the bottom of the frame and on the bottom of the grip strap indicating it is a specially produced gun intended for engraving. 42,XXX serial range with all matching numbers. Retains virtually all of the cylinder scene. Dlx grips are quite stunning with virtually all the high gloss piano finish lacquer remaining. There were a number of London model 1851 Navy revolvers in the 42000 serial range that were unsold at the time that the Civil War was developing in this country about 1860-1861. I believe this gun was returned to the US. The reason is because it appears to have some Civil War markings on the bottom of the grip such as "Company D 1862" and on the right heel is scratched " J K 22 MI". Beautifully cased in an English style case featuring the original cleaning rod, nipple tool, loading tool, Colt Navy flask by James Dickson as well as a percussion cap box. The case is lined with red velour and in near excellent condition. Showing only a minimal amount of handling. Gun retains a considerable amount of high gloss polished blue finish on the bbl as well as on the cylinder. The trigger guard is of iron which all the London Navy were made of and retains a considerable amount of silver plate. Traces of case colors on the frame and the engraving is fantastic. One of the fanciest Colts I think I have seen. Excellent plus inside and out. Hard to beat.
Antique $ 29,500.

Item # C1685
This Colt has a 6" bbl. Manufactured 1952. Checkered walnut grips. Nearly all the blue finish remains. A couple very light spots of pin prick oxidation. I do not believe this gun has seen much use. Comes with the orig Colt clip. These Colt semi-auto 22's are coming on strong in the collectable field. This would be a very nice gun for someone starting to collect these.
Modern $ 725.
C075 COLT 1848 BABY DRAGOON
Item # C075
The five-shot Baby Dragoon was the first pocket revolver to be manufactured by the company at the new Hartford plant since its Patterson days. Approximately 15,000 were made between 1847 and 1850. This is a .31 caliber revolver with a 4 inch octagon barrel. Bore does have rifling, but light pits are visible. Action is good. Cylinder scene is very light. A spot of light pitting on the right side of the barrel. All matching numbers except for the wedge. All metal except for the brass is a grey/brown patina. The backstrap has a tiny amount of the original silver plate over the brass. The grips are good fitting and sound without cracks but have numerous handling marks. Sharp markings for a gun made in 1848. A good collectable Colt.
Antique $ 4,500.

C1892 FIRST MODEL COLT NAVY
Item # C1892 -27-753
Serial number 792. A very early Colt 1851 1st model square back Navy. Good eye appeal. Numbers matching. Faint cylinder scene remaining. Mostly a blue/brown color with the cylinder being mostly brown. The frame does have some color that I think was added many years ago. The grips are in good shape on the top but down by the butt there is quite a bit of wear. I don't know if the guy used it to knock people in the head or pound nails but the missing chips give the gun some character. This gun has been around for a long time. A good collectible Colt!
Antique $ 5,750.
C1894 VERY EARLY COLT 1851 NAVY
Item # C1894 -27-754
Serial number 219 which is the early square back small trigger guard version of the Navy. This gun was cleaned years ago and is starting to tone back. Heavily pitted on the bbl especially on the right side. Light to moderate pitting throughout. Surprisingly there is still some of the cylinder scene remaining. Appears to be the orig wooden grips in good cond with some wear. Has had a coat of finish put on years ago. Replacement screw here and there. British proof marks on the cylinder. If you are into the old guns with early serial numbers this one would certainly fit the bill.
Antique $ 4,100.
