MHG572 SMITH & WESSON NO. 1-1/2 FIRST ISSUE REVOLVER
Item # MHG572
These are also known as the old model 1-1/2. The first issue had the square shaped butt and are quite rare since they were only made for about 3 years. This one is very high cond with 70-75% overall blue remaining. Frame has some very nice shiny blue. The cylinder is mostly flaked and there is some flaking to the bbl especially on the left hand side. Clean smooth metal. The beautiful rosewood grips are near perfect. This gun is solid and tight in every respect. The hinge pin is extremely tight. The lock works great with no wiggle. This gun is excellent mechanically. Bore is extremely good. Nice rifling. Shiny with only a couple of light pits. You rarely see one of these in such nice cond.
6" bbl. Cal 32 RF. Still some pretty good orig blue in protected areas. About 50%. Left side has more wear on bbl. Frame has some flaking on the right. The remaining blue is good looking. Cylinder has turned an aged medium brown color. Grips are VG cond. Action works and sounds good. Slightly loose at the hinge area. A decent old S & W.
