MR1151 SCARCE HAMILTON RIFLE CO. NUMBER 7
Item # MR1151
The Model 7 was the first Hamilton made. The skeleton frame was made entirely of castings, stampings with coil springs, and completely nickel-plated. To load the rifle, the barrel pivots to the left at the frame junction, exposing the chamber. The Hamilton No 7 still holds the record for the longest firing pin on a shoulder fired rifle at 9" long. 44,700 No. 7's were made from 1899-1901, of which Mr. Ringbauer, Hamilton Rifle Historian, Author and Collector, estimates 99.9 percent have gone to "Rifle Heaven". It is estimated that fewer than 45 of these "first model" Hamilton rifles remain. Regardless, very few of the rifle exist. This one is in pretty decent condition with most of the original finish remaining. Rear peep sight is broken off. Some initials and numbers scratched on left side of frame. Action works fine. A good looking example of a very hard to find Hamilton.

The metal is very nice condition on both the bbls and the frame with nearly all finish remaining. The bores are good but there is light pitting on the chamber area. MR1039 ENGRAVED CHAPUIS EXPRESS DOUBLE RIFLE COMBO GUN
Item # MR1039
This is a nice package. The rifle is 7X65R cal. Also comes with a set of 20 ga shotgun bbls. These are all included in a case. The engraving on the frame is beautiful. It is well executed with some deep relief engraving on the bolsters and some very fine scroll on the sides and bottom. This was evidently a special order gun for someone since on the trigger guard in a small oval is the initials "APA". Also on the pistol grip cap is an Elk escutcheon. High quality wood that appears to be French Walnut which would make sense since these where made in France. A nice slim trim double rifle in a very good caliber. Double rifles are used a lot and are noted to be natural pointers and have a long history of use in places like Africa. The shotgun bbls are 20 ga for 3" magnums. 26-3/4" bbl. Choked improved cylinder and modified. Information that comes with this rifle is out of the Gun Digest 1980. These guns were made in the late 70's and into the 80's and were known for being low cost double rifles of high quality and very usable. When you consider that many double rifles cost 5-10 times this amount it surely is a value. Comes in a nice fitted case with 2 sets of wood and in near mint condition. If you want a good double rifle without spending $50,000 this would be a good option for you.
