MR838/MR858 EVANS CARBINE
Item # MR838/MR858
This would be called the New Model repeating carbine. Cal 44. Carbine length bbl at 22". These are quite scarce with a short production run in the late 1870's. This particular gun has a very good blue on the frame. Bbl is more greyed out. A few spots towards the muzzle that are quite heavily pitted and have aged into an antique patina look. The stock has several bruises and dings on it but is actually in amazing cond for it's age. Forearm also shows wear. Bore is bright and shiny with good rifling. Couple of light pits. Nice smooth action. A good collectable scarce gun.

WMERZ FACTORY ENGRAVED GOLD INLAID MODEL 07 CASED WINCHESTER RIFLE
Item # WMERZ
Caliber 351. This gun was engraved by William Gough who was a factory engraver. Beautifully done. Way above his average work. On one side is 2 gold inlaid moose and some gold birds in a tree. On the opposite side is a grizzly walking in the sunrise with birds flying off. Just a beautiful scene! Receiver is probably 90% covered with engraving. Barrel has engraving as well. Fancy deluxe 3X grade wood is in excellent condition with just a few light handling mars. Complete with Winchester sling eyes and a hard rubber buttplate. Original sights include a Marble flip up rear sight, Lyman front sight and folding tang sight. Overall gun is excellent with 95% barrel blue. Receiver is at about 90% blue remaining and starting to turn a soft patina. Beautiful engraved game scenes! This gun is new to the market. It has been in my personal collection for over 40 years and before that it came out of a family in New England who had it since new. Fitted in a unique case that has a place for 2 boxes of cartridges. Also holds an extra clip on the bottom. On the lid is room for 2 extra clips in a slot. Winchester logo on the inside of the case and also a Winchester catalogue of tools accompanies it. Case and cartridges are in excellent condition. One of a kind outfit. I feel this was made for the Extra Finish Arms Catalogue of 1917 that never materialized because of WWI. The facts that I stated here are confirmed by a hand written letter by George Madis. Great gun!!

W761 HISTORIC HENRY PRESENTATION RIFLE
Item # W761
Cal 44RF. Early production serial number 1111. Right side of the receiver is period engraved "Edgar Totten Wisconsin April 8th From Wm. A Warren" For some unknown reason the year has been deliberately taken out. Many privately purchased Henry's were carried by soldiers from Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky (which cost them $42. About 3 months soldiers pay) during the Civil War. I found an Edgar Totten who mustered out of the 173rd Regiment in October of 1865. There was a William Warren listed from Bellevue, Iowa. He was the local sheriff and the leader of a posse during the "Bellevue War". He went on to become an important quartermaster for the Union Army in the Civil War. Not sure of the connection between the two or the reason for the presentation. This rifle is in Good overall condition showing honest wear and color for it's age. The rear sight is missing the slider. This is a great piece of American History that anyone would be proud to own.
Antique $ 67,500.

S22F FACTORY ENGRAVED SAVAGE MODEL 95 RIFLE
Item # S22F
Beyond a shadow of a doubt the finest 95 Savage ever produced. It was made for W.S. Stratton. Stratton was the owner of the Cripple Creek mines. He sold the mines in 1900 for $10 million which was a large amount of money at the time. He ordered a half dozen of these factory engraved Savages. This was his own personal gun. I purchased it years ago from Bob Funk of Wyoming and he had personally bought it from the Estate of Stratton. The gun has good provenance having been in my personal collection for a number of years and previously in Mr. Funk's collection. The early 95 Savages were made by Marlin before Art Savage got his factory going. The engraving on this was done by one of the Ulrichs. Features a dog and a deer in a motif on one side and scroll work on the other. The gun is in excl cond with about 75% vivid case colors with some areas turning silvery. The bbl retains 98% orig bright blue. Correct sights. Excl bore. Lyman flip up rear sight and folding tang sight. Fancy deluxe checkered walnut stocks retain most orig high gloss finish and have a few mars, dings and compression marks from storage but no cracks or splits. No signs of any refinish. Rifle butt retains a fair amount of case colors turning a silver color. Gun is excl+ all orig cond throughout and undoubtedly the finest 95 to have surfaced to date. There are only about 6 factory engraved 95 Savages that will letter. There is probably about another 6 or 8 out there that do not letter. I think I have seen them all and this is definitely the finest one. Great investment! This gun has a Factory Letter accompanying it that states the gun was ordered by Stratton and shipped directly to him in 1896.
