W761 HISTORIC HENRY PRESENTATION RIFLE
Item # W761
Cal 44RF. Early production serial number 1111. Right side of the receiver is period engraved "Edgar Totten Wisconsin April 8th From Wm. A Warren" For some unknown reason the year has been deliberately taken out. Many privately purchased Henry's were carried by soldiers from Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky (which cost them $42. About 3 months soldiers pay) during the Civil War. I found an Edgar Totten who mustered out of the 173rd Regiment in October of 1865. There was a William Warren listed from Bellevue, Iowa. He was the local sheriff and the leader of a posse during the "Bellevue War". He went on to become an important quartermaster for the Union Army in the Civil War. Not sure of the connection between the two or the reason for the presentation. This rifle is in Good overall condition showing honest wear and color for it's age. The rear sight is missing the slider. In the butt is the original hickory cleaning rod. This is a great piece of American History that anyone would be proud to own.
Antique $ 67,500.

32 inch Damascus barrel and Damascus magazine tube have turned a dark plum blue brown patina coloration; most Damascus pattern visible. Receiver turned mostly dark on right side and forward area of left-balance is a nickelly gray patina; sharp scroll and vine engraving with a hunter and dog scene on left side. Interesting that right side is marked 'Spencer Arm Co.' (without patent date). Engraving appears to be done by the New York master Louis D. Nimschke-quite elaborate. SN 1 is present on numerous parts throughout the gun. Of further interest is that the barrel bears the Model 1886 type address, the cond matches the rest of the gun perfectly and it appears no alterations have been made. VG walnut, short non-checkered pump handle, checkering on pistol grip somewhat worn; otherwise VG+ walnut. The carrier's forward area is of a different design than seen on other 1884's, etc.; the slot is very short. VG shiny bore with a few pits. Interesting Spencer; possibly one-of-a-kind.

MR1071 STANDARD ARMS RIFLE
Item # MR1071
Cal 30 which is the obsolete 30 Remington caliber. Standard Arms rifle was unique in the fact that they made a rifle that was suppose to be semi automatic but could also be used as a slide action. Very short production run of these guns in the early 1900's. Sounds silly to have a semi-auto pump rifle. It made sense in the day because of the variations of different ammo that may not always work as a semi-auto so you had the option to use the slide action. This gun has very nice bbl blue. The frame has quite a bit of blue on the left side and not so much on the right side. A decent stock. One cool thing about the Standard Arms was the buttplate and slide handle which were quite ornate. Most of the parts appear to be with the gun and even comes with a pouch containing cleaning accessories.
Modern $ 975.

A nickel plated gun with the nickel in pretty good shape. Some wear but pretty much all there. This gun has beautiful grips in very good cond. There is a mechanical issue. Gun does not index and sometimes the hammer does not go all the way back but the cylinder does turn by hand. The cylinder pin is a bit marred up. This is a good looking interesting piece.
