Item # MR235A
Antique $ 3,750.
MR599 MODEL 1819 HARPERS FERRY RIFLE
Item # MR599
It has a very interesting conversion to breech loading shotgun in 20 GA. Hammer must be pulled to cock position to draw the spring loaded firing pin back that has been neatly inserted into the breech chamber. By pulling back on the spur lever the receiver can be opened much wider of an elevation to fit in the cartridge. The underside of the breech hand ejector has been made neatly installed underneath the stock in front of the rear bbl bed to remove the spent shot shell. There is also a reinforced plate riveted over the top of the breech area to help contain excessive pressure. Very interesting alteration. Marked on the side of the receiver is "1832". Good sound wood. Plum-brown patina colorations with light markings. Original swivels and complete with functional ramrod.
Antique $ 2,500.

S22F FACTORY ENGRAVED SAVAGE MODEL 95 RIFLE
Item # S22F
Beyond a shadow of a doubt the finest 95 Savage ever produced. It was made for W.S. Stratton. Stratton was the owner of the Cripple Creek mines. He sold the mines in 1900 for $10 million which was a large amount of money at the time. He ordered a half dozen of these factory engraved Savages. This was his own personal gun. I purchased it years ago from Bob Funk of Wyoming and he had personally bought it from the Estate of Stratton. The gun has good provenance having been in my personal collection for a number of years and previously in Mr. Funk's collection. The early 95 Savages were made by Marlin before Art Savage got his factory going. The engraving on this was done by one of the Ulrichs. Features a dog and a deer in a motif on one side and scroll work on the other. The gun is in excl cond with about 75% vivid case colors with some areas turning silvery. The bbl retains 98% orig bright blue. Correct sights. Excl bore. Lyman flip up rear sight and folding tang sight. Fancy deluxe checkered walnut stocks retain most orig high gloss finish and have a few mars, dings and compression marks from storage but no cracks or splits. No signs of any refinish. Rifle butt retains a fair amount of case colors turning a silver color. Gun is excl+ all orig cond throughout and undoubtedly the finest 95 to have surfaced to date. There are only about 6 factory engraved 95 Savages that will letter. There is probably about another 6 or 8 out there that do not letter. I think I have seen them all and this is definitely the finest one. Great investment! This gun has a Factory Letter accompanying it that states the gun was ordered by Stratton and shipped directly to him in 1896.

MHG566 FLINTLOCK TRAP GUN/CEMETERY GUN
Item # MHG566
This flintlock is English made with "G. Jones BIRM m" on the lockplate. It has a huge bore. 1-1/8". A very strange contraption that was used in the late 1700's into the early 1800's supposedly for use against poachers around their traps and also for grave robbers. The grave robbing part would work pretty good since once you dug down to the gun and tripped the wire you would get shot and fall in the hole. They would just have to cover it up again. The cond is actually VG. The flintlock parts all there. A bit sluggish and may need tuning. The frizzen and pan do move. The hammer and activation is a little sluggish but does work. If you are looking for the odd and bizarre this would fit the bill!!
Antique $ 5,500.
MSG887 VERY INTERESTING SET GUN
Item # MSG887
Also frequently referred to as a"Cemetery Gun". Because surgeons and medical students could only legally dissect executed criminals or people who had donated their bodies to science, a trade in stolen corpses erupted. The cemetery gun was a dramatic way to discourage so-called "resurrection men." The gun would be mounted on a mechanism that allows it to spin freely. Cemetery keepers set up the weapon at the foot of a grave with three tripwires around the grave. A prospective grave-robber, stumbling over the tripwire in the dark, would trigger the weapon—much to his own demise. This one is well marked. The lock plate is marked with a "GR" and a Crown. Stock has the name "Marriott" branded into the bottom and the upper left side. The 2 halves of the stock are held together by riveted bindings. This is one of the best ones I have seen as they are usually in pretty tough shape. Definitely old and authentic and a very interesting and unique piece of early history.

MHG692 EXCEPTIONALLY RARE SLOCUM REVOLVER
Item # MHG692
Serial number 1 that is stamped in several places on this revolver. It is either the first one made or it was an experimental or prototype revolver. It is 6-shot 32 RF. Produced by or in conjunction with the Brooklyn Arms Co. Very short production run. As short as a year possibly in 1863, possibly 1864. This of course was during the height of the Civil War and most of the materials and labor was going towards the war effort. This is a small pocket pistol variety with 3" bbl and brass frame with scroll engraving. Bbl is pretty much a silver color with age spots. Frame is very nice condition with nice smooth metal. Action indexes and works nicely. Grips are all there with a few scratches but no losses of wood. Unique looking gun with the 6-shot cylinder. Cylinder looks over sized. This would have been a quite formidable carry gun in the Civil War days. Never have seen one before and I probably never will. If you are looking for rare this would be a great choice.

MSG241 SERIAL #1 SPENCER 1884 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN
Item # MSG241
32 inch Damascus barrel and Damascus magazine tube have turned a dark plum blue brown patina coloration; most Damascus pattern visible. Receiver turned mostly dark on right side and forward area of left-balance is a nickelly gray patina; sharp scroll and vine engraving with a hunter and dog scene on left side. Interesting that right side is marked 'Spencer Arm Co.' (without patent date). Engraving appears to be done by the New York master Louis D. Nimschke-quite elaborate. SN 1 is present on numerous parts throughout the gun. Of further interest is that the barrel bears the Model 1886 type address, the cond matches the rest of the gun perfectly and it appears no alterations have been made. VG walnut, short non-checkered pump handle, checkering on pistol grip somewhat worn; otherwise VG+ walnut. The carrier's forward area is of a different design than seen on other 1884's, etc.; the slot is very short. VG shiny bore with a few pits. Interesting Spencer; possibly one-of-a-kind.
Antique $ 7,750.
MHG580 MANHATTAN PERCUSSION REVOLVER
Item # MHG580
This Manhattan would be called the series 4 with a Newark N.J. bbl address. Bbl is 6-1/2" long. Cal 36. The series 4 had a 5-shot cylinder. Overall cond is pretty good. Cylinder scene is faint but somewhat visible. Metal has some pin prick pitting throughout but no deep corrosion. Touch up blue in places. British proof marks. Mechanics are VG. Indexes, locks up, trigger and hammer springs good and loading gate works. A great bore. Manhattan was a major player in firearms at one time but went by the wayside. This is a good collectable gun.

The Navy Model is 36 caliber single action percussion revolver with a standard barrel length of 7 5/8 inches that was manufactured from the late 1850s through the early 1860s. The revolver went into production after Colt’s patent on his revolver mechanism expired in 1857. Interesting in that it is in the 4th type serial number range but has the E. Whitney barrel address. Generally fine condition overall retaining 85% original nickel on the barrel, frame, hammer and trigger guard with traces of case colors on loading lever. Nice grips with great cartouche. Excellent mechanics. Plain cylinder. A fine Civil War Era Whitney.

MHG392 BEAUTIFUL FLINTLOCK PISTOL
Item # MHG392
21" overall with a 13-1/2" bbl. Bore is approximately .65 cal. Gun features all brass fixtures such as trigger guard. Inlaid motifs are very decoratively engraved. The woodwork on the gun is superb with a considerable amount of elaborate carving. There is a minter's name that I can't quite make out on the lock plate. A very beautiful well made decorative gun believed to be an early Spanish made. Overall gun is a plum-brown coloration with excellent wood. All complete and original unaltered. Very interesting piece.
