VERY INTERESTING WINCHESTER 1866-1966 CENTENNIAL RIFLE

When this model was in the planning stages, the executives all guessed as to how many might be manufactured & sold. Ted Hazelwood guessed 66,666. His guess was highest by around 20,000. They sold over 100,000! This special gun was made up for and inscribed 'Ted Hazelwood, S.N. 66,666'. It has very fancy wood with most all original lacquer remaining, gold plated receiver and forearm cap; cap gold has flaked a bit next to the forearm. All the finish remains on barrel, magazine & lever. The barrel is marked 'A Century of Leadership 1866-1966'. Complete with provenance and original box. Very interesting, unique Winchester Centennial rifle.

Sold by Merz in 2009.
