Made by Guiosson of St Etienne. Probably the fanciest high quality percussion pistols that I have encountered. The engraving is absolutely fantastic! Frame and octagon portion done in a deep relief style with nearly 100% coverage and a matted background. The guns have 4″ barrels that are half octagon half round with the round portion being a beautiful bright blue. 44 percussion caliber. Ebony fluted grips are engraved and carved as well. The bullet mold has the same style of engraving as the pistols with the deep relief work and matted background. Other accoutrements include bullet starter, conical base plug, plain small powder flask and a percussion cap container.
All is presented in a walnut French style fitted case with a red velvet lining. Lid has an engraved plaque with the initials. The case has some mars, dings and chips with some loss of varnish. Lining shows some age wear and fading. As I stated earlier, these are probably the finest pair I have encountered. Exceptional workmanship and absolutely beautiful!
