W277A WINCHESTER 1885 HI-WALL SCHUETZEN RIFLE; Caliber 22 Short. Equipped with a 26 inch round #3 weight barrel. As with most Schuetzen rifles this one is set up for target shooting. It has an early unmarked scope with a unique mounting system. It is mounted on Winchester blocks tapped into the barrel. There are 2 extra holes in front of the front block that have been plugged. This gun also has a simple post front sight. Metal condition is VG throughout with nearly all blue remaining on both barrel and receiver. Still some traces of case color on the lever. This is equipped with a double set trigger that does work. Very fancy wood with exaggerated perch belly stock and a Schuetzen buttplate. The Schuetzen buttplate has had the top point or arm removed which makes it much easier to shoulder. Wood condition is near excellent with a few shooting mars and marks. Quite certain this 1885 would be a dandy shooter because it has a near perfect bore.
MODERN $ 4,500.
