MSG934 VERY INTERESTING FRENCH HALF STOCK FLINTLOCK FOWLER; 34 inch tapered barrel that starts out octagon for about the first 3 inches then turns round. It is about a 46 caliber smoothbore barrel with a fair bore that needs a cleaning. A low blade front sight and no rear. The barrel has a gray/brown gunmetal patina. Original sling swivels. Correct wooden ramrod. Floral motifs carved throughout the stock with cheekpiece. There are also some light drawn motifs behind trigger guard and left side almost indicating the carving was not yet completed. Beveled lockplate is marked “GRENNOIS” with some fine engraving. Looks to be a complete and functional flintlock. Mechanics are fine. A light handy rifle at only 3 pounds 11 ounces. Good looking rifle with some honest wear yet is interesting with its 11 inch LOP.
ANTIQUE $ 1,775.
