MR1579 VERY FINE PEABODY CIVIL WAR CARBINE; Probably the finest one I have seen. It has virtually all the case hardening color. 20 inch round barrel chambered in 50 caliber with a mint bore. Original barrel blue is at least 98%. Excellent mechanical condition. Wood is in very good condition with a sharp cartouche. Vivid case color on the butt plate. Original saddle ring. Correct original sights. This is a super condition Civil War Carbine. It would be very hard to improve upon.
