MR1554 SHARPS BORCHARDT MODEL 1878 CUSTOM RIFLE IN 219 ZIPPER; Features a custom 26 inch heavy round replacement barrel chambered in 219 Zipper Improved caliber. Very good bright shiny bore. Custom barrel retains most all of its blue with minor scratches and thinning. There are no sights on the barrel but there are 4 drilled and tapped holes for scope mounting bases. The receiver retains a fair amount of smokey case colors. There is a little bit of oxidation on the right side towards the forearm. Breechblock still retains most all of the blue. Good markings. Checkered pistolgrip walnut buttstock is in very good condition with most varnish and a thinning nickel Schuetzen style butt. The checkered schnabel forend is also good condition. Rear forend screw is missing. A rectangular cutout in the upper tang is present. Smooth functioning action and set trigger that work. Not a bad looking old Sharps chambered in a high velocity vintage wildcat cartridge.
