R2426 REMINGTON HEPBURN NO. 3 SPORTING RIFLE IN 40 2-1/2 CALIBER; 28 inch octagon barrel chambered in 40 2-1/2 caliber with a bright shiny excellent bore. Barrel retains about 70% blue that is thinning and toning to a gray/brown in areas with a little bit of light oxidation along the bottom. Sharp crisp markings. Sights include a gold Beeches combination front with a sporting rear and a mid-range Vernier tang. Receiver has good case colors that are quite vibrant in the more protected areas and toning to a silvery patina along the bottom. Breechblock retains most all of the bright blue while the hammer and trigger show good blue with some flaking. Checkered walnut pistolgrip buttstock and smooth forend with steel schnabel tip are in very nice condition with only minor handling mars. Nickel-plated schuetzen-style buttplate shows little wear.
