W4056 WINCHESTER MODEL 1866 SRC WITH HENRY MARKED BARREL; Early carbine made in 1869 with Henry marked barrel. Standard 20 inch carbine configuration with a very good bore. Original front sight and a replaced rear. Barrel and barrel band are a brown patina. Magazine tube may have been refinished. Brass receiver appears to have been sanded and or draw filed. Replacement saddle ring and staple. Hammer, trigger, lever and loading gate have good traces of silver plating remaining. This carbine has been converted to center-fire sometime in its life. Wood has been replaced and reshaped with a crack all along the forearm. Custom shaped brass buttplate. A good candidate for new stocks.
